Alberta Highway Clean-up to take place this weekend

EDMONTON, Alta. — Drivers in Alberta are once again asked to take caution this weekend, as kids take to the ditches for the annual Highway Clean-up.

Because of bad weather last weekend, when the clean-up was originally planned, the event was postponed in many areas until this weekend.

The areas that will be cleaned this Saturday, include Lethbridge, Medicine Hat, Edson, Hanna, Drumheller, Red Deer, Grande Prairie, High Level, Peace River and Calgary.

Volunteers from youth groups across the province will be cleaning up the highways between 7 a.m. and 3 p.m. on Saturday. Drivers are being asked to reduce speeds in these areas and obey all signs.

If weather once again keeps the volunteers at bay, then the Highway Clean-up will not be rescheduled.
