INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. — Allison Transmission has extended drain intervals for TranSynd synthetic automatic transmission fluid (ATF).

The company has begun using the fluid as a factory fill for its AT, MT, HT, MD, HD, B and MH Series transmissions.

“In rigorous field studies TranSynd has shown remarkable performance in a broad range of applications,” says Mitch Murray, manager of tactical marketing at Allison.

“This proven performance, combined with Allison’s use of TranSynd as factory fill for our World Transmission (WT) products, is enabling us to confidently extend drain intervals to these dramatic levels.”

Allison has set the new drain intervals for TranSynd in most WT models at 75,000 miles for severe-duty applications and 150,000 miles for general-duty application.

“TranSynd offers significantly longer oil drain intervals compared with other automatic transmission fluids. In addition, the product reduces fleet costs related to maintenance, labor, filter replacement and oil disposal,” says Murray.
