AMTA advisory board holds first meeting

RED DEER, Alta. — The Alberta Motor Transport Association’s (AMTA) Injury Reduction and Training Advisory Board recently met in Red Deer to elect a new chair.

Guy Blasetti was named chair at the Aug. 21 meeting by a unanimous vote before the board went on to discuss such issues as Safety Person of the Year, Highway Watch, CVSA Roadside Inspection Program and the Worker’s Compensation Board.

The next meeting for the board will take place Oct. 30 again in Red Deer.

Meanwhile, the AMTA’s Compliance and Regulatory Affairs and the Member Services Advisory Boards are in the process of being established and they will hold their first meetings in the near future.
