CALGARY, Alta. — Former Alberta Motor Transport Association (AMTA) general manager, Bob Drinnan, died peacefully at home on Sunday.
Many truckers who have been plying their trades for a while will remember Drinnan as an active member of the AMTA, taking over as general manager in 1967.
In 1998, Drinnan retired as general manager of the Alberta Trucking Industry Safety Association, a group he helped form.
Drinnan is also responsible for starting the popular Alberta Shippers Guide, and running many AMTA conventions.
At his family’s request, there will be no funeral or memorial service, however donations can be made on Drinnan’s behalf to the Canadian Cancer Society.
