NASHVILLE, Tenn. — ArvinMeritor has added a four-piston Quadralic disc brake for medium-duty trucks to it’s expanding line of brake products.

The new Quadralic disc brake, which is designed to package within 19.5- and 22.5-inch wheels, provides improved durability and increased lining life.

“This new hydraulic brake technology provides several performance and maintenance benefits at an overall reduced cost of ownership,” says Prakash Jain, director of technical support-brake products.

In addition to increased durability, other benefits of Quadralic disk brake calipers include increased pad strength and easy maintenance. The new design also minimizes the need to replace the caliper or anchor plate.

“An improved piston design, parts commonalities, easier pad replacement and improved brake life and fuel economy are just a few of the features that help fleets and end-users achieve a better bottom line,” says Jain.

The new calipers are available through Ford, Freightliner, General Motors, Sterling, Thomas Bus, Western RV and ArvinMeritor’s Commercial Vehicle Aftermarket distribution centers in Florence, Ky. and Brampton, Ont.
