TROY, Mich. — ArvinMeritor has announced the availability of remanufactured brake shoes with the same high-quality standards as original product.

ArvinMeritor will produce more than 300 manufactured shoes and 250 remanufactured kits covering nearly 90 different brake types and sizes with 12 separate friction materials available, also available for virtually every heavy-duty brake application.

Trained assembly technicians first inspect the core for excessive wear. Cores with the potential to negatively impact performance including corroded tables, deformed web, elongated anchor and pin holes or slots, elongated rivet holes, broken welds, bent tables or flattened roller slots, are rejected.

After the initial inspection process, the shoes are put through a comprehensive process of remanufacturing, including washing, de-lining, shot blasting, re-lining, riveting and a final quality inspection before being shipped.
