NASHVILLE, Tenn. — The American Trucking Associations (ATA) will have a new president and chief executive officer, and it’s coming in the form of Kansas Gov. William Graves.

Graves will take over the post when he completes his term, but is currently filling the role on an interim basis. He will take on the responsibilities full-time on Jan. 14, 2003.

The announcement was made at the ATA’s annual management conference and exhibition in Nashville.

Graves, who carries a degree in business administration, has a background in trucking that includes ownership of Graves Motor Co. His father is also a member of the Kansas Motor Carriers Association.
