Atlantic FAST centre now open

WOODSTOCK, N.B. (March 3, 2004) — The wait is finally over for New Brunswick truckers who have been pressing for a Free and Secure Trade (FAST) facility in their home province.

This week the Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) began accepting appointments for commercial driver applicants who wish to register for the bilateral border-clearance program between Canada and the U.S. The new FAST Driver Enrollment Center is located at the Woodstock Road commercial warehouse on 1403 Route 95 in Belleville, N.B.

To apply for the FAST identification card, drivers must complete the application form and mail it to the processing centre indicated on the form. If the applicants meet the initial requirements, they will be invited to visit the centre for an interview, at which point the information provided will be reviewed and a full set of fingerprints as well as a photo will be taken.

Hours of operation are from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Atlantic Standard Time on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Commercial drivers can book an appointment by calling 1-866/930-FAST (3278) or 506-325-3199.
