Atlantic Truck Driving Championships set for June 18

DIEPPE, N.B. — The  The Atlantic Provinces Trucking Association (APTA) will be hosting its annual Truck Driving Championships at the Commercial Safety College in Masstown, N.S. on Saturday, June 18.

The day begins at 9 a.m and the championships includes a written test, pre-trip inspection and field test course, which is divided into 2-axle, 4-axle, 5-axle and B-Train categories. The day will end with an awards banquet, where the winners from each class will be presented with their award along with the winners of the Rookie of the Year and Team Awards.

“On behalf of the APTA Safety Council and Board of Directors, we would like to extend an invite to the public to join us for our Annual Driving Championships,” said Paul Fournier of Midland Transport Limited and chairman of the APTA Safety Council. “Come witness the skills and professionalism of Atlantic Canada’s best drivers.  We would also like to wish all participants a fun and safe day and the best of luck to all.”   

The APTA reminds attendees that throughout the day volunteers from the Colchester Food Bank will be collecting non-perishable food items and cash donations.
