FORT ST. JOHN, B.C. — The Halfway River First Nation is calling its latest efforts to force a decision on ownership of a local route an ‘informational blockade.’
The road in question, Hwy. 117, runs through the Band’s land and a claim over the vital transport link has been in before Ottawa since 1995.
The band has vowed to stop all vehicles from oil and gas companies that do not have a band-issued, use-permit.
