STEINBACH, Man. — Big Freight Systems has secured a multi-year deal to haul products for international glass producer, Pilkington, meaning more jobs for Canadian truckers.

The Manitoba fleet will be the exclusive transportation company providing its services to Pilkington for all specialized glass transportation from Laurinburg, N.C. to Eastern Canada and from Ottawa, Ill. to Western Canada.

This new contract will require Big Freight to continue expansion of its glass hauling operation and the fleet promises it will be adding both equipment and personnel.

Pilkington runs its North American headquarters from its Toledo, Ohio operation and is a major supplier of automotive glass and float glass. Big Freight, meanwhile, provides open deck transportation in Canada and the U.S. and has specialized in hauling glass since 1985.
