Bigger, better Wagon West

MERIT, B.C. (Jan. 5, 2004) — The Wagon West travel plaza, located at exit 290 off the Coquihalla highway at Merit, B.C., has been renovating in response to requests for more trucker-related services.

Besides offering up to 130 parking spaces, Wagon West now offers eight private showers, a 24-hour parts store, high-speed internet access, a laundromat, a Husky Cardlock outlet, and an extensively revamped menu.

Restaurant manager Mike Powers says the menu now features the kind of meal a truck driver will appreciate, with very generous servings of what he called “real food.” “When you plunk down your eight bucks for a meal, you won’t be walking away hungry,” Powers promises.
