Canada Cartage gets logical about freight

TORONTO, (Sept. 30, 2003) — Canada Cartage System, one of Canada’s largest for-hire carriers, has purchased the Freight Logix transportation management solution (TMS) and will move its operations to the new system this coming November. Freight Logix combines LTL, pickup & delivery (P&D), cartage and truckload functionality in a single integrated solution

According to company enterprise architect Dathan Liblik, the Freight Logix solution is replacing an earlier, less robust transportation management solution and brings the trucking company “dramatically improved performance, flexibility and control across its operations, from dispatching to tracking and timing of deliveries.”

Canada Cartage provides a full array of transportation services, from cross-Canada and U.S. truckload and LTL shipments to customer-based dedicated fleets. The company operates terminals in Toronto, Oshawa, Rexdale and Brampton and in Montreal, employing a fleet of some 700 trucks in LTL, truckload, and dedicated fleets.
