Caterpillar executive Jerry Bone dies

WASHINGTON, Ill. (Oct. 24, 2000) — Jerry Bone, North American director of field operations for Caterpillar Inc.’s engine division, died Oct. 20 at a hospital in Peoria, Ill., after suffering a brain aneurysm.

Bone, 60, served as Caterpillar’s senior field representative in Canada for 10 years before returning to the company’s Peoria headquarters in 1996. He worked for Caterpillar for 38 years.

Bone was a native of Peoria but always spoke fondly of his time in Canada. He is survived by his wife, Mary Ann, four children, and two grandchildren.

Services will be held today at Deiters Funeral Home in Washington. Memorials may be made to the March of Dimes or Oakville Trafalger Memorial Hospital Auxiliary, 327 Reynolds St., Oakville, ON L6J 3L7.
