QUEBEC CITY, Que. — Quebec’s Transportation Minister Guy Chevrette will be dropped from the next provincial cabinet, according to a report in today’s edition of the French-language daily Le Devoir.

The report indicates Premier Bernard Landry, who has cancelled a scheduled trip to Europe, will announce a significant cabinet shuffle on Tuesday or Wednesday of this week.

According to the newspaper, comments recently attributed to Chevrette have irritated Landry. In particular, Chevrette revealed that he was offered, and refused, a $500,000 bribe several years ago without reporting the incident to police.

Chevrette is currently out of the country, heading a delegation to Asia.
