CITT Renames Logistics Conference, Opens Registration

CALGARY, AB — The Canadian Institute of Traffic and Transportation (CITT) has changed the name of its annual logistics conference and has opened early-bird registration.

The conference runs from October 22 to 24 and is in its 29th year. The old name: “Reposition.” New name: “The Canada Logistics Conference 2014.”

CITT President Catherine Viglas commented on the name change:”We chose the name to make sure it communicated that it’s the Canadian conference for logistics professionals. In the past, there had been some perception that the conference was an exclusive event for CITT members, and that’s not the case.”

To that end, Viglas also said that there have been hundreds of delegates from various industries, such as mineral refining and pharmaceuticals. Many of those delegates include non-members of CITT, shippers, carriers and ports.

“High quality professional development opportunities like the Canada Logistics Conference are part of our commitment to the entire supply chain sector in Canada, and we wanted the name to reflect that,” Viglas said.

The conference offers many business sessions and professional development workshops, but also networking and touring opportunities.

“The real value for delegates and their employers comes from the practical, actionable learning and thought leadership,” Viglas said.

“After all, the best outcome a delegate can get from a PD conference is going back to work feeling smarter and more motivated.”
