MONTREAL, Que. — Canadian National (CN) and CSX Intermodal (CSXI) introduced a variety of new intermodal services connecting major Canadian and U.S. markets.

The marketing agreement offers shippers five-day service for coast-to-coast intermodal traffic between Vancouver and New York, four-day service from Toronto to Florida and two day service from Toronto to New York.

The CN-CSXI marketing agreement allows them to expand their market significantly, according to the rail giants. By combining the reach of the railroads, CSXI president and chief executive officer Clarence Gooden says it creates a big opportunity for shippers.

“This is a truck competitive service with truck-competitive reliability offered at rail intermodal rates,” he says.
