Conference to study transportation challenges facing Calgary

CALGARY, Alta. — The Van Horne Institute is presenting a conference that will examine Calgary’s viability as a Western distribution hub for trucking companies and other transportation sectors.

The one-day conference will take place at Calgary’s Fairmont Palliser Hotel on Mar. 6, and its objective is to provide a forum to examine the status and challenges facing the development, surface transportation and logistics and warehousing sectors.

Calgary mayor, Dave Bronconnier is the keynote speaker, slated to address delegates at 12 p.m.

Other speakers include representatives from Kleyson Transport, Canadian Pacific Railway, Economy Carriers, Trimac Corporation, the Alberta Ministry of Transportation and Transport Canada.
