Controversial issue makes another roar

VICTORIA, B.C. — The B.C. Liberals have lifted a moratorium on grizzly bear hunting — the issue that prompted former Transportation Minister, Harry Lali, to resign his post last spring.

The moratorium caused a riff between Lali and former NDP Premier Ujjal Dosanjh and ultimately, Lali stepped down from Cabinet.

However, the newly-elected B.C. Liberals insist there is a strong enough grizzly population in the province to support a limited hunt.
