Corporate reshuffling at Mack and Volvo
Paul Vikner, Mack Trucks’ executive vice president of sales, is leaving the company effective immediately.
The company said the decision is Vikner’s, but some published reports have already speculated that the move is a result of corporate restructuring after Volvo and Renault V.I./Mack merged to form the new Volvo Global Truck Co.
Current Mack VP of sales Kevin Flaherty and Tom Kelly, VP of marketing remain at their positions. Also under the new Volvo Global Truck structure, Mack’s current corporate affairs director has accepted a promotion to become Volvo’s Vice President of Brand Management, and will move to Gotheborg, Sweden, in the spring. Her job is to position the three truck brands and identities and separate lines.
Meanwhile, current Volvo senior VP Jorma Halonen has succeeded Tryggve Sthen as president of Volvo Truck Corp. Sthen was recently appointed president of Volvo Global Trucks Corp.
