HALIFAX, N.S. — The China Ocean Shipping Company (COSC) will be adding a second sailing at the Port of Halifax, beginning May 10.

The weekly service will offer a direct link to the eastern and western Mediterranean via the Italian port of Genoa. COSC already hosts a Genoa Express service, which sails into Genoa and New York.

David Bellefontaine, president and CEO of the Halifax Port Authority says he is extremely excited about the new addition.

“We are very pleased to welcome COSCO’s second Halifax service,” says Bellefontaine. “We believe that the addition demonstrates COSCO’s confidence in Halifax as a major East Coast gateway and is another positive sign of the Port’s ability to attract new business.”
