CPR names Ed Dodge operations chief

CALGARY (June 14, 2001) — Hugh MacDiarmid, the executive responsible for commercial operations at Canadian Pacific Railway, is leaving the company at the end of the month, citing personal reasons.

He will be replaced by Ed Dodge, currently executive vice-president of operations at CPR.

Dodge, whose new title is chief operating officer, will be responsible for the railway’s operations and commercial activities. Dodge has been with the railway for 30 years.

The transition comes prior to the spinning off of the railway by its parent, Canadian Pacific Ltd., this fall.
