CSI Wireless wins patent for DGPS antenna

CSI Wireless
CSI Wireless of Calgary has won a patent for its antenna splitter technology that uses a standard AM/FM radio antenna to receive differential GPS. Differential Global Positioning System, or DGPS, provides more precise location information than standard GPS. CSI Wireless’s AVL-1 signal splitter effectively inserts between the antenna and the radio, with a connector to a CSI Wireless DGPS receiver. This eliminates the need for additional external DGPS antennas. Smaller than a deck of cards, the AVL-1 provides signals to both the AM/FM radio and the DGPS receiver with performance comparable to that of a high-end “whip” antenna.
