CTHRC goes live with new website

OTTAWA — The Canadian Trucking Human Resources Council (CTHRC) launched its new website this week, with “new tools to help the trucking industry manage and train their transportation employees.”

The CTHRC says its new site is much more current and dynamic than its previous one. It is now grouped into two distinct categories — management and front line workers. The CTHRC says the new setup allows it to better help the trucking industry.

“The Web site will continue to deliver important information and tools regarding human resource practices in the trucking industry,” said Linda Gauthier, executive director of the CTHRC. “We have attempted to make the new site much more user-friendly in order to make accessing the information and resources even easier for our partners than it was before.”

Products such as National Occupational Standards, e-learning courses, and labour market information are all available to sample and download free of charge. There are also links to many other industry partners and information, making this Web site a one-stop-shopping portal for the trucking industry’s training needs.

The site also has information on upcoming programs, such as the wage subsidy program for new trucking employees, slated to start early next year.

An online secure store soon to be available will permit visitors to try out many of the council’s products such as the dispatcher courses, and National Occupational Customizing Tool before purchasing them, to make sure that the tools meet their needs.
