CVSA adds Q&A forum to web site

WASHINGTON, (Nov. 17, 2003) — The Commercial Vehicle Safety Alliance is inviting drivers, fleet managers and law enforcement officers who have questions about the new hours of service rules or other commercial vehicle safety-related issues to click on its web site for answers.

Vu Nguyen, CVSA’s director of marketing and technology, says the Q&A forum is a permanent addition to the web site and is intended to be an educational resource for the industry and law enforcement. He cautions, however, that success of the forum will be based on the professionalism and camaraderie between the users. Registration is required to post questions or comments but there’s no fee for membership.

CVSA staff will monitor the postings and Nguyen says they’ll do their best to get questions answered in a timely manner. He also stresses that forum replies are not official. Requests for official rule interpretations must be submitted in writing.

CVSA is a nonprofit organization of federal, state and provincial government agencies and representatives of private industry in the U.S., Canada and Mexico. Among other things, CVSA develops inspection and out-of-service guidelines for commercial law enforcement. For more information on CVSA see its web site or call (202) 775-1623.
