KALAMAZOO, Mich. — Dana Corp.’s Commercial Vehicle Systems unit has introduced the new Dana Spicer E-1462I Integral Arm steer axle.

Designed to replace the E-1460I 89mm (3.5-inch) drop standard track steer axle, the E-1462I features the latest in lightweight, durable, and highly maneuverable product technology, according to the manufacturer.

The new E-1462I axle maintains the reliability of integral forged knuckles in a lightweight and highly maneuverable package.

A patent-pending kingpin joint includes the use of two drawkeys with spring washer retention in a more rigid beam design. This results in a maximum contact joint design, providing longer life and greater durability, reports Dana. A sealed thrust bearing also keeps lubricants in and contaminants out.
