ADDISON, TX – Daseke — North America’s largest flatbed and specialized transportation carrier — has appointed Chief Financial Officer Scott Wheeler as its new president. He also remains Chief Financial Officer and assumes the role from founder Don Daseke, who continues to serve as Chief Executive Officer and chairman.

“[Wheeler] was the architect behind our mergers, organizational structure and critical to our success in going public. He has proven to be a great leader and Daseke will continue to greatly benefit from his talents and experience as he takes on this new leadership role,” Don Daseke said. “He has the respect of his corporate team, the CEOs of our operating companies, the Daseke board of directors, and the public markets. Daseke would be very different if it were not for Scott Wheeler.

Daseke has more than 5,200 tractors and 11,000 flatbed and specialized trailers. It established its Canadian presence by acquiring Manitoba-based Big Freight.
