CALGARY, Alta. — Truckers who frequently run the Calgary area won’t be surprised to learn that Deerfoot Tr. is the most dangerous route in Cowtown.

The Calgary police traffic section has determined that half of the city’s most dangerous intersections are located on the Deerfoot.

Calgary police are now appealing to motorists to tailor their driving style on the dangerous stretch of roadway.

“Our objective is for people to pay attention to their driving when they’re driving through these particular locations and to get the message out to Calgarians that these are problem areas,” traffic Insp. Gary Loughery tells local media.

Last year, more than 1,300 vehicles were involved in collisions on the Deerfoot.

The most dangerous intersection is Deerfoot Tr. and Memorial Dr., an area that sees a lot of truck traffic making runs to the southeast industrial area.
