Diesel spill covers two blocks of T.O.

TORONTO, Ont. — Ministry of Environment crews spent much of yesterday mopping up a diesel fuel spill in North York.

Police say almost 300 litres of diesel spilled on Yonge Street north of Hwy. 401 thanks to a truck carrying old fuel tanks, which leaked all over a two-block radius.

Workers spread sand over the spill to contain the hazard. There is no word on whether charges are pending.
