Edmonton Kenworth named dealer of the year

KIRKLAND, Wash. (Feb. 27, 2002) — Kenworth Truck Co. has named Edmonton Kenworth dealer of the year for Canada and the United States.

The award, presented at the truck manufacturer’s recent dealer conference, recognizes the top-performing Kenworth dealership in areas such as customer service and support after-the-sale. Kenworth has more than 285 dealer locations in Canada and the U.S.

“It’s a tremendous honor for our dealership and our employees to be selected as Kenworth’s dealer of the year,” said Gary M. King, president of Edmonton Kenworth. “We sell and service the best in Kenworth trucks and provide industry leading customer support programs after the sale. It is certainly gratifying to me and our people to be recognized for our efforts.”

Edmonton Kenworth has two locations in Edmonton and one in Lloydminster, Alta. It is a major supplier of truck equipment, parts and service to the oilfield, logging, and highway markets in the Edmonton region and northern Alberta. The dealership sells everything from the Kenworth T300 medium-duty product to the Kenworth C550 oilfield truck.

“Edmonton Kenworth did just a fantastic job in 2001,” said Ed Caudill, Kenworth general manager and PACCAR vice-president. “They moved into their new flagship facility, which provided their customers with even more outstanding support and helped to significantly expand their business.”

The 48,000-square foot, state-of-the-art building in Edmonton has 24 service bays, including two drive-through service bays for express oil changes. An alignment pit handles large highway haulers and oilfield trucks. The dealership also has a driver’s lounge, showers, and a large parking area.

“To support our customers, we also operate a mobile service truck to go out and handle customer repairs in the field,” King said. “We offer the full range of Kenworth PremierCare program services, including contract preventive maintenance.”

The dealership was named dealer of the year for Canada in 2000.

Also announced at the meeting were Kenworth’s Silver Award winners for 2001, which included GreatWest Kenworth of Calgary.
