PLASTER ROCK, N.B. — The Village of Plaster Rock, Tobique Valley Manor and the emergency response team from the Plaster Rock Hospital are gearing up for a mock disaster.

The training exercise, to practice responding to a major emergency is being organized by the New Brunswick Emergency Measures Organization (NB EMO) and will take place Monday, Sept. 10 in Plaster Rock.

The mock emergency will involve an accident during the transportation of dangerous goods on Hwy. 108, which causes the Village, Tobique Valley Manor and Plaster Rock Hospital to activate their respective emergency plans.

“Staging a mock disaster gives us a more tangible look at our emergency response plan, and how we can ensure it is effective and up to date,” says Plaster Rock Mayor Robin DeMerchant.
