Fontaine wins fifth-wheel contract with International
WARRENVILLE, Ill. (Feb. 14, 2003) — International Truck and Engine named Fontaine International as its exclusive supplier of factory-installed fifth wheels for International brand heavy-duty, severe-service. and medium-duty tractors.
“This new relationship allows International and Fontaine engineers to collaborate more closely to deliver on customer needs such as weight reduction and improved functionality in specific applications,” International said in a press release.
Fontaine is the only fifth wheel supplier offering either cast or pressed steel top plates. Its proprietary No-Slack II Locking Technology is designed to eliminate fifth wheel slack automatically.
Fontaine fifth wheels will be standard on on International tractors in the 4000, 5000i, 7000, 8000, and 9000i Series.
