CALGARY, Alta. — Calgarian Traci Dunlop was among four Canadians to officially change their last names from Dunlop to Dunlop-Tire.
Each of the participants will share a $25,000 price, netting each of the newly-named Dunlop-Tires $6,250.
Dunlop-Tire called the company, which manufactures medium-duty truck tires, when she found out about the challenge for people with the last name Dunlop. At first she was reluctant, but a friend talked her into it.
Although the contest rules allow her to revert back to the name Dunlop, she says she will keep the new moniker for now, “Until it stops being fun.”
Dunlop-Tire plans to spend half the prize money “on bills and tire stocks” and the other half on just plain fun.
