FREIGHTLINER ADDS DELUXE COLUMBIA MODEL
LOUISVILLE, Ky. — In its continuing effort to bridge the gap between O/O styling and fleet performance, Freightliner has unveiled its new Class 8: The Columbia DX.
This deluxe edition unit is the latest evolution of the original equipment manufacturer’s flagship line of offerings since the redesign of the market-dominating Century Class.
“The Columbia has enjoyed a great deal of success since its introduction in the fall of 1999,” says Jim Hebe, Freightliner LLC president and chief executive officer. “Customers appreciate its combination of aerodynamics, style, reliability, efficiency and functionality.”
According to Hebe, the new DX includes a host of improvements to ride and performance as well as both interior and exterior enhancements.
“We are introducing a version tailored to North American owner/operators and style-minded fleets,” he explains, “so they can realize all the Columbia’s value and efficiency while enjoying a traditional look and premium content.”
