FUEL-CELL DEVELOPER RASUL HONOURED

BURNABY, B.C. – Firoz Rasul, president and CEO of Burnaby-based fuel cell developer Ballard Power Systems, has been named the 2001 National Transportation Person of the Year.

The National Transportation Week board of directors bestowed the honor upon Rasul because under his leadership, Ballard has become a leading developer of fuel cell systems for transportation applications.

Ballard has developed transportation systems that utilize fuels more efficiently and with significantly reduced pollutants.

Transportation Week is a non-profit organization that promotes the important contribution of Canada’s transportation sector.
