Hendrickson Scoops Up Suspension Partsmaker

ITASCA, IL — Suspension maker Hendrickson International announced it has acquired Austrian Frauenthal Group’s leaf spring and stabilizer divisions.

“The acquisition of this business will enable us to broaden our footprint in Europe to better support our global spring customer base,” said Gary Gerstenslager, Hendrickson president and CEO.

TBC Netherlands, a Hendrickson affiliate, will absorb operations in Austria, France and Romania. Frauenthal expects to receive between 20-million to 25-million euros, subject to financial conditions in those segments upon the deal’s closing. The light springs operations based in Portugal will remain with Frauenthal.

Closing the deal will be subject to conditions and is expected to occur later in the second half of 2014.
