International dealers to share parts inventories

WARRENVILLE, Ill. — More than 280 International dealers across 800 locations in Canada and the US will be linking their inventories through online automotive tool OEConnection, the company has announced.

International claims to be the first non-automotive user of the system, which will improve efficiencies for dealers, who will be able to view parts inventories at other International dealerships. They can view other dealers’ stock in real-time and tap into their stock to fulfill customer needs, the company says.

Navistar says it will create a parts supply network and shorten part cycle-times through use of the program, which also includes idle inventory reduction tools.

“Accessing and using the parts our dealers have on-hand benefits everyone in our dealer network,” said Rommel Miranda, vice-president, sales and marketing, Navistar Parts. “OEConnection’s comprehensive tools will help reduce the time it takes us to fulfill backordered parts requests and increase vehicle uptime for our customers.”
