International employs high-tech recruiting strategy

WARRENVILLE, Ill. — In response to a number of question marks surrounding the recruitment process, International Truck and Engine employed the services of a tracking system from iCIMS to quantify hiring results.

Based in Illinois, International has more than 13,000 employees spread throughout the world.

High expenses and a lack of measurable results made it difficult for the company’s recruiters to compare statistics among the company’s various locations and create a consistent, streamlined hiring management program.

“We wanted a user-friendly ATS (applicant tracking solution) with reporting capabilities that we could easily use to evaluate our recruitment initiatives,” said Lara Elgin, performance systems analyst with International. “We were particularly interested in quantifying the results of our referral programs, our job posting advertisements, our EEO records and our cost-per-hire and time-to-fill metrics.”

Shortly after employing the iRecruiter ATS system from iCIMS, International says the company has been able to produce a more efficient hiring process and streamline the recruitment program across all locations.

The new technology has also allowed recruiters to track the efforts of the employee referral program. With a stronger referral program the company has decreased its reliance on placement agencies.

“We’ve saved tens of thousands in third-party staffing fees, which lowers our cost-per-hire and contributes to the overall efficiency of our recruitment programs,” noted Elgin.
