SASKATOON, Sask. — International Road Dynamics (IRD) continues to spread its wings south of the border, most recently inking a $1.8 million to provide Weigh-In-Motion (WIM) technology to California.

The California Transportation Department (CalTrans) has asked IRD to provide equipment, software maintenance and on-call service for its statewide network of data collection and WIM technology. The contract will run from now until June 30, 2003.

Richard Quinley, spokesman for the Traffic Operations Department of CalTrans, says IRD will help the state, “provide the best WIM data possible with minimal system downtime.”

He is familiar with the company’s work through past projects in California, and says its expertise in the field is unparalleled.

“This type of project is in line with IRD’s mission to be customer drive, meeting customer needs with ongoing long-term system management,” says Terry Bergan, IRD president and chief executive officer.
