Lakeside, Earl Paddock announce merger

OAKVILLE, Ont. (Nov. 26, 2003) — Lakeside Logistics of Oakville, Ont. has announced plans to merge its Paramount Freight Systems subsidiary with Stoney Creek, Ont.-based family fleet Earl Paddock Transportation.

The joint company will be operated under the name Earl Paddock Transportation, collaborating sales and equipment from both companies.

“Putting Paddock and Paramount together provides Lakeside with added capacity and services for our current clients,” says Chris Magill, Managing Director of Lakeside Logistics.

The merging of the two fleets provides expanded services to each company’s client base. Clients will now have access to a wider range of reefers, flatbeds and heavy-haul equipment as well as 53-foot vans, Magill said.

“Connecting with Lakeside diversifies our asset base,” says Scott Paddock, Co-President, Paddock Transportation. “There is a natural fit between the two companies. We share the philosophy of putting our customers at the centre of each of our businesses.”
