Lions Gate Bridge to continue nightly closures

VANCOUVER, B.C. — While drivers can take solace in the fact that most of the headaches surrounding travel on the Lions Gate Bridge are behind them, nightly closures will continue for a while yet.

The Lions Gate Project office has yet to determine when closures will finish for the year, but it says they will continue through the end of next week at least.

The bridge will also be closed to traffic for part of this weekend so workers can activate and test the new lane control system.

Even when the bridge is opened, drivers can expect some delays this weekend, as the centre lane will remain closed for system testing.

The closures do, however, depend on weather conditions.
