LONDON SPEEDERS TO GET THE MESSAGE

LONDON, Ont. — Truckers and motorists pinched by London’s new speed detector will get the message they’re driving too fast without being issued a ticket.

The new radar unit, attached to a speed monitoring trailer on order for the London Safe Communities Coalition, flashes the speed of an approaching vehicle as well as the speed limit on a screen visible to the driver.

The trailer has a price tag of just under $15,000, and will be operated by auxiliary police in any speeding hotspots around the city.
