Lou Smyrlis and Roman Lewinsky join ‘Toss Your Boss’ for Make-A-Wish

LONDON, Ont. — Lou Smyrlis of Newcom Business Media and Roman Lewinsky of Navistar are the latest to join the Rope for Hope – Toss your Boss event.

The event is put on by Trucking for Wishes, in partnership with Make-A-Wish Southwestern Ontario and those who sign up for the event will be rappelling off the iconic 26 storey TD Tower in London, Ont. on June 17. All proceeds raised go toward helping provide wishes to children with life threatening illnesses.

“We are proud to have two industry veterans join our Trucking for Wishes Team.” says Aaron Lindsay, v.p. of Marketing at Trucking for Wishes. “We now have 16 brave people who will be rappelling on June 17 and our team has already raised over $38,000 in three weeks.”

Both Smyrlis  and Lewinsky need to achieve their fundraising goal in order to rappel. If you would like to support Lou Smyrlis click here and/or Roman Lewinsky click here.

Here is what Kathy Koras of Newcom had to say about her experience last year: “I did it! I conquered my biggest fear of heights. That’s how much I believe in Make-A-Wish…I challenge each and everyone in the trucking industry to participate and help mane the hopes and dream of children with life threatening medical conditions a reality!”

To get involved in this once in a lifetime opportunity all you need is one person to rappel and represent your company. We will set up a fundraising webpage and they you need to raise a minimum of $1,500 in personal or corporate donations in order to qualify to rappel.

Companies that participate in the Rope For Hope event will receive:

  • One registration to rappel for a lucky staff member
  • Your company logo on the Make-A-Wish Trailer for one full year (it will be on display at the event on June 17th)
  • Access to the trailer for 2 weeks for you or one of your clients
