CLERMONT-FERRAND, France — In the face of disaster, Michelin has stepped up and donated $1 million to the American Red Cross relief fund for victims of Tuesday’s terrorist attacks in the U.S.

They are also opening the fund up to their employees from around the world who wish to add to the fund.

Michelin chief executive officer, Edouard Michelin says “It is impossible to find words to express the anguish we feel for the tragedy that has befallen the United States. On behalf of Michelin employees throughout the world, I offer our heartfelt sympathy to those touched by this disaster. We hope our contribution will help in some small way to assist those in need.”

Michelin North America president Jim Micali echoed those sentiments.

“Michelin employees in the United States have been deeply affected by the needs of the victims of these terrible events,” says Micali. He adds that further contributions will be forthcoming from the company.
