Mullen on record-breaking pace

ALDERSYDE, Alta. — Alberta-based Mullen Transportation has reported its first quarter earnings, and for the first time ever, it exceeded $100 million.

Consolidated revenues during the first quarter were $111.4 million, up 16.9 per cent from the same period last year.

The increase is being attributed to growth in the oilfield services division due to an increased demand for specialized hauling and rig moving services.

The slowing economy and higher fuel prices hurt trucking operations, but they too showed an increase in revenue.

Mullen Transportation is expecting revenue to continue to climb in the oilfield sector throughout the remainder of the year.

The full quarterly report is available on their Web site, www.mullentransportation.com.
