WOODVILLE, N.S. – A Nova Scotia Department of Transportation and Public Works employee was killed on the job when a ditch collapsed on him.

The individual, who died on Monday, was identified Tuesday as Gregory James Gillott, 38.

The local RCMP spokesperson says the victim was measuring a hole in which a culvert was to be placed when the sides caved in. The work site was on Hwy. 14 — not far from Windsor, N.S.

The Department of Labour is reportedly investigating.
