NAPA consolidates Ontario warehouses

MISSISSAUGA, Ont. (July 31, 2002) — UAP Inc., which operates 6,185 NAPA stores across the country, plans to consolidate its automotive distribution operations in Ontario at a new regional distribution center in Cambridge in December 2002. The move will create approximately 100 jobs, but means the end for the company’s distribution centers in London and Toronto.

According to the company, the decision was reached after careful review of the operational and economic considerations, as well as customer needs.

UAP employs approximately 125 employees at the London and Toronto facilities. Those employees who do not transfer to the new Cambridge facility will be offered severance packages.
