National Seminar Series Looks at Best HR Trucking Practices

OTTAWA, ON (October 5, 2015) – Trucking HR Canada is launching a new national seminar series to highlight best practices in human resources that can be adopted by fleets of every size.

Each will present information on the latest trends, as well as related practical advice that can be applied by fleet managers as they deal with the challenges of recruiting, training and retaining the best employees, according to the group.

“We will be working with partners across Canada to reach fleets in every region,” says Angela Splinter, CEO of Trucking HR Canada. “The shortage of qualified drivers, shrinking labor pools, and increasing competition for younger workers all demand a greater focus on human resources management. These seminars will present information on underlying trends, as well as practical management strategies that can make a difference.”

The first seminar and luncheon in the new series, Your People, Your Brand, will be offered on Oct. 21 from 11:30 am to 2 pm at the Sheraton Vancouver Guildford Hotel in Surrey. It is being hosted in partnership with the British Columbia Trucking Association (BCTA).

Speakers at this event include Julie Burgess of Triton Transport, Patrick Lo of Canaan Shipping and Trucking HR Canada’s Splinter. Mike McCarron, one of the founders of the consulting firm Left Lane Associates, will moderate the panel discussion.

To register or to get more information, go to the BCTA website.
