WARRENVILLE, Ill. — Navistar International has appointed Ramin Younessi as vice-president of truck group strategy and business operations, to succeed John Lamoureux, who recently became vice-president of global sourcing and business development.

Younessi joins Navistar from Freightliner where he was most recently general manager and chief engineer of product validation.

“Ramin brings a wealth of knowledge about the truck business, technical expertise and high standards for performance along with a broad view of our marketplace to his new role,” said Dee Kapur, president, truck group, Navistar International. “His confidence in our strategy brings him to Navistar and will help us expand our horizons even further.”

With more than 20 years experience in the truck industry, Younessi has held a variety of roles in domestic and international operations and product development. In his 13-year career with Freightliner, Younessi held numerous executive positions in marketing and product planning, as well as several assignments in Freightliner’s engineering organization.

He graduated with a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from Rochester Institute of Technology. In addition, he holds master’s degrees in electrical engineering and engineering management from Syracuse University and the University of Maryland, respectively.
