ALEXANDRIA, Va. — The 2016 Best Fleets to Drive For contest and survey is now open for nominations the Truckload Carriers Association and CarriersEdge announced today.

The contest recognizes fleets with superior HR best practices, who set an example for the rest of the trucking industry.

To nominate a fleet for the award, visit www.BestFleetsToDriveFor.com between September 8 and October 31.

To be eligible, a for-hire fleet must have at least 10 trucks and operate in the US or Canada. There is no TCA membership required.

Participants will answer questions about their current HR best practices, both electronically and through phone interviews. Once all the nominations are in, the top 20 finishers will be named the Best Fleets to Drive For. The winners are announced in January 2016. Winners are divided into “large” and “small” categories, and two overall winners from each category will be recognized March 6-9 at the TCA annual convention in Las Vegas.

“Although the process of collecting data for the survey can be a bit gruelling the first time, I believe that the nomination process validates the great strides that the nominees continue to make,” said TCA Chairman Keith Tuttle. “There is great value for the carriers whose drivers recommend them, whether they ultimately win one of the two overall categories or not. Self-assessment is a priceless way to help you learn, grow, and ultimately improve your operations.”

Jane Jazrawy, chief executive officer of CarriersEdge added: “Everyone agrees that the Best Fleets program, now in its eighth year, is highly valuable because of the innovations it brings to light. Our survey is unique in that it captures the most successful practices and makes them available to other companies so they can learn from them. Ultimately, that improves the entire trucking industry.”
